Welcome to

SAALBACH HINTERGLEMM

DESTINATION INFO:

Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn provides one of Europe’s most exciting circuses – in both senses of the word. The attractive village of Saalbach is the largest one from the ski resorts set in the wooded Glemm valley, looking exactly how you’d picture an Austrian village, with timber buildings cluster around the onion-domed church, a small river running alongside the main street and charming center full of stylish shops, cafes and restaurants.

Hinterglemm on the other hand offers pure family ski holidays and many ski in/ out hotels of all categories.

A few years ago, the ski resorts of Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang and Fieberbrunn came together to create the famous Ski Circus that now extends from Tyrol (Fieberbrunn) all the way into the province of Salzburg (Saalbach-Hinterglemm and Leogang). With its state-of-the-art lifts, the ski area is perfect for beginners to good intermediates with mile upon mile of well groomed and wide pistes. The pistes are very spread out giving you a huge area to roam on and off the pistes, picking out powder starches to throw spray turns in. You can literally pick lines from the lifts, pushing yourself as far as you want to, great for wannabe freeriders.

When you’re not on the mountain or kicking back in a bar, take a ride on the alpine coaster or try snow tubing, where you whizz downhill on a giant rubber ring. And don’t miss the weekly freestyle show, which takes place between January and March.

APRES SKI:

Across the whole Saalbach-Hinterglemm area, there are numerous places to eat, from simple snack bars to proper restaurants. Most of them are affordable, with good quality food , like – Grill & Bar del Rossi -specializing in pizzas as well as marinated steaks and  homemade tiramisu , – Seppi’s – where the menu includes refined flavours like marinated salmon and crown of lamb with polenta, and – GoaßStall -a goat-themed hut that offers hearty local dishes, including wiener schnitzel,  tiroler gröstl and glühwein.

Nightlife can and does get quite intense here at the various apres-ski bars dotted around the mountain as well as some clubs in both Saalbach and Hinterglemm that are open until the early hours.

On the mountain you have some of the best après-ski in the world with the legendary Goaßstall (the ‘Goat Stall’, with real goats!) in Hinterglemm, or the Hinterhag in Saalbach, with live music and lots of dancing.

Back in the resort you can head to Bauer’s Schi-Alm at the base of the home run, where you can find great music and dance along in your ski boots to some après-ski classics!
