Welcome to

Les Menuires

DESTINATION INFO:

At more than 1,850 metres above sea level, Les Menuires is a high resort spread across two mountainsides, promising great snow cover and excellent sun exposure. The resort is perfect for family skiing and physical challenges, with summits that even beginners can reach via the blue slopes.

As one of the 3 Vallées resorts, Les Menuires offers access to 600km of slopes. Ski at will on the slopes of Les Menuires, Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, Val Thorens, Courchevel, Méribel, Orelle and Brides-les-Bains.

The ski resort Les 3 Vallées – Val Thorens/Les Menuires/Méribel/Courchevel is located in the Tarentaise (France, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Savoie Mont Blanc, Savoie, Albertville). For skiing and snowboarding, there are 600 km of slopes and 50 km of ski routes available. 137 lifts transport the guests. The winter sports area is situated between the elevations of 1,100 and 3,230 m. The ski resort, Les 3 Vallées – the three valleys – connects the valleys of Courchevel, Méribel and the Vallée des Belleville with Saint Martin de Belleville, Les Menuires and Val Thorens to form one of the largest connected ski resorts in the world. The different valleys also offer a variety of landscapes from High Alpine terrain with cliffs and Alm meadows to slopes through the forests – and the space between the slopes is accessible for freeriders. There are also connections to the ski resort with gondolas from Orelle and Brides-les-Bains, which are not located in the valleys.

APRES SKI:

Conveniently clustered right at the bottom of ski runs, many of the terraced bars are ‘ski into’ and often bathed in sunshine. Comparatively, Les Menuires is a little quieter than neighboring resorts like Meribel and Val Thorens when it comes to Après ski, however, there is still enough going on and the resort itself gives off a very French atmosphere. A pretty good spot for some Après ski in Les Menuires is at Croissette, where there is an abundance of bars and discos that stay lively until late such as Bar Le Challenge which often has live music and is open until 2 am, or you can join the French in the Moose bar just below it!

Le Kube is a piano bar with a cosy lounge until 10 pm, and turns into more of a bar or pub atmosphere from 10 pm until 2 am with a pool table and a wide cocktail list .

A lovely wine bar called the ‘Cave des Belleville’ is also worth a try and finally, for the party animals there is ‘Le Leerberty’ which is open from 5 pm to 5 am throughout the winter .

Alternatively, if you want to après ski in Val Thorens, a taxi costs roughly 40 euros so this option is also extremely feasible. If you do decide to do this then the Folie Douce in Val Thorens is definitely worth a try, whilst it is smaller than the other Folie Douce in Meribel it most definitely makes up for it with its buzzing atmosphere!

Les Menuires Ski Terrain – Beginners

Central Les Menuires offers a great choice for learners, with its beginner slopes located in the resorts’ La Croisette area. The nursery slopes are newly improved and include six moving carpets and a drag lift. In the area there is the La Violette green run, which is perfect for practicing after progressing from the nursery slopes. Once confidence is built, there are many easier blue runs scattered across the area to practice and perfect your technique.

Les Menuires Ski Terrain – Intermediates

The easy access to the 600km of pistes that the Three Valleys has to offer means that an extensive amount of intermediate terrain is available. Try out the famous Jerusalem run, a long, sweeping red run which takes you to an unparalleled picture postcard scenery. And while most of the higher runs down from Pointe de la Masse across the valley may be outside an intermediate’s comfort zone, the lovely Bouquetin and Vallon provide some less heart-pounding blue descents that mean non-experts needn’t miss out on the area’s stunning scenery and blessed seclusion.

Les Menuires Ski Terrain – Experts

Expert skiers will definitely enjoy their time in Les Menuires, as its highly privileged position right at the center of the Three Valleys provides unlimited access to the other neighboring ski resorts, and in result many challenging terrain options. One of the most worthwhile runs in the overall area is the Pointe de la Masse, located at 2804m and offering a speedy, vertical drop that will for sure get your adrenaline pumping. In the same area, you will also find many off piste opportunities.

Les Menuires - Snowboarders

With Les Menuires being part of the Three Valleys, there are many snowparks in the overall area that are worth visiting. The ones that stand out are in Val Thorens, Meribel’s Plattieres park and the family park in Courchevel. Les Menuires own Pixel area is easily accessed from the Sunny express lift or by the Becca chairlift. The park boasts many features such as rails and tables for all levels, whilst on the lower slopes of la Masse there is also a boardercross and a slalom course. Families with younger children may also take advantage of the wildlife- themed Friendly Natural Park which offers an interpretive area with ski games of all sorts.
